There is only one 3 year old classroom so all of his former classmates are with him again. Levi, Colter, Regan, Abby, Gio, are just a couple former classmates he is with again. I love that the kids are able to grow up together and look forward to seeing each other again and again making school a special friendly place. I also love how the kids know the parents as well. If one of the kiddo's spots a parent spying through the window they excitedly point out the parent to the appropriate child. 'Cole, Cole, your mom is here!'
The first day went off without a hitch. He put his backpack in his cubbie and lunch/drink in the appropriate place. We found Cole's place mat with his name on it and sat down with some play dough. Many of the mothers stood by waiting for the first activity to begin, waiting for tears, waiting for something. As I stood next to my son along with the rest of the mothers Cole looked at me and said, Cole: 'Goodbye mom.'
Me: 'You want me to leave?'
Cole: 'Yeah, goodbye,'
Me: 'Well... goodbye, I guess.'
Mrs. Bell, Mrs. Roxanne and Mrs B. all seem like lovely teachers. After a successful first day, Cole opted to celebrate, not with ice-cream but rather with fancy cupcakes from the bakery. Yum-O! The school year has begun and we are off to a great start.
