A Camping We Will Go
This past weekend our family ventured to San Isabel National Park for a 2 day camping trip with the boy scouts. Our group reserved an entire section of the park so the kids were free to roam from tent to tent and run from one end of our section to the other end without parents having to worry about people stealing our children. Our tent was set up literally feet from a beautiful fast moving stream which lulled us to sleep every night. Cole collected firewood and constructed a beautiful wood teepee which we used to make a fire on our last evening. We ate hot dogs and hamburgers and had amores both nights. I think Case ate 6 on our last evening at the park. We went hiking Saturday morning and found our most prized possession, a hummingbird nest, laying on the hiking trail. Saturday afternoon, we unsuccessfully tried to catch fish with buckets in the lake for several hours before returning back to camp where the boys played zombie tag. I don't know what the game consisted of, but it went on for hours and there was lots of running and hiding involved. Of course cornhole filled in the down times. Case is becoming such a social creature I know his favorite part was having dozens of kids just a tent away to play with from dawn to dark. Everyone had a great time on our weekend adventure out in the wild, roughing it and getting to know other scouts better.
