I love 4th of July. It always reminds me of going to my grandparents East house, playing croquet, eating barbecue and watching a huge homemade firework display. Our celebrations in Colorado are different but I'm glad we are able to carrying on some of the traditions. The day before the 4th our family watched fireworks across the street. It was a little rainy so Cole camped out and made a bed under Cody's truck cover. The next day, Cody and I spent the morning cleaning up the house and doing yard work. Getting ready for fun is a lot of work! Pull weeds, water plants, dead head flowers, mow lawn, edge grass, go to the grocery store 2 times, wash down table and chairs, clean house, air cushions out, prep food, get dressed...finally, fun. B-pa, Dave, Little Cody Keith, Christy, Seth and Maddie all came over for fireworks and food. We played a few games of ring toss with B-pa before blowing up the drive way. Cody went to Wyoming last weekend and went overboard purchasing fun things that explode and blow up. Pooping dogs, spinners, parachute people, sparkling swords, things that boom, snap, crackle and pop. After the smoke cleared we ate ribs and brisket, started a fire in the pit, made smores and then lit up the night with fireworks. The 4th is over but the traditions will be back again next year.
