He is a wiz at school. He knows how to count to 100 at lightening speed. He can sing the months of the year, recite the days of the week, identify and recite the value of all coin money, add 4+4, 10+10 and many others. His favorite thing about school is specials (art, music, p.e. and spanish) and recess. Case is currently working on reading. He knows all of the phonic sounds and loves quizzing himself on beginning letter sounds. Ie: Street starts with S. Road starts with R. Case is working on reading and currently knows around 60 words. With his great knowledge of letter sounds I know reading is going to click soon and words recognition will overflow. The introduction of school has also introduced some talking back and sass. He says things like "whatever" and "forget it" which grates on mamas nerves. Gotta love peer influences.
Case is our early riser and wakes up by 6:00 or 6:30 every morning (yawn!) I'm sleepy just thinking about it. And at night, after I tuck him in bed and say goodnight he is asleep in 5 minutes. He still loves animal knowledge and his idea of a bedtime story is reading facts about saltwater crocodiles, chameleons, snakes and insects. Case is kind to our pets and Elizabeth the cat reciprocates his love by sleeping in bed with him every night. Case loves to watch Wild Kratts, play candy land, crazy 8's, football and playing with the neighbors.
Athletically Case has a great arm and can throw a football with speed, accuracy and tremendous precision. Case also loves to run and he is fast. No one likes to play chase with him anymore because we really have to hustle/sprint if we want to catch him. He has even run around the block with me a time or two as I train for a half marathon. He has a competitive heart and always wants to be first. If I give Cole praise, Case says, 'What about me?'
Case is a good eater. He eats just about anything but loves meat the most and is a carnivore at heart. He eats: grilled chicken, ham, lunch meat, steak, bacon, sausage, pork chops, and pork loin but loves roast the most. He eats salad and loves crunchy bread. He isn't a big fan of vegetables but eat fruit and consumes oranges, grapes, cantaloupe and strawberries on a daily basis. He still loves his baby blanket and takes it with him whenever we allow it. Now that his is a whopping 6 years old we are anxiously awaiting his first loose tooth but as to date nothing is wiggling yet.
His little boy voice has changed and its no longer high pitched and baby sweet. Now he sounds like a big big boy. He answers questions with yea and sure. My little boy is growing up. I am proud of him and can't wait to see what paths in life he chooses to go down. I love you Case. Happy Birthday.
