Gratitude

We play a little game in the car sometimes.  The game is: lets pretend we are looking for a new home.  The boys then begin to describe what kind of house they want and what kind of things they want inside and outside.  Of course they describe our items, their toys and our house, but I love this game because I get to hear which things they think are special.  We drive through the neighborhood looking for a grey house, a red door, with a play house in the backyard, 3 dogs and a trampoline. When we finally find the right house, we go inside and see if the inside contents fit our previous description.  The boys run through the rooms exclaiming "It has a fire place!"  "Look at all the toys!"  "There are clothes just my size!"   "This house has a cat!"  "Sit on this comfy bed!"  "Can we keep this house?!"  Yes we can.  Yes we can.  Even when we are not playing the game, the boys often say, "I love this house.  Can we live here forever?"  I am so grateful for the wonderful, safe, clean, comfortable, spacious house we have to grow and live life in.  I am also grateful that the boys love their home and recognize how special it is as well.

  1. That is so sweet! We've started recording some of the things we're grateful for in a little notebook at dinner. I can't wait to look over it in months and years to come. :)
