Roller Skating

Case and Cole went rollerskating for the first time after attending a birthday party at the Skate City. Walking into the skating rink was like walking into a time warp. Roller skating rinks have literally not changed one bit since I was an elementary skater myself. The DJ in the corner leading the hokey pokey, limbo and speed skate times. Cosmic carpet, dark lights, cheap pizza and candy in the snack bar and super slick bathrooms that are impossible to skate into. Skate City is incredibly popular and its nice to see good old fashion fun is still alive and well with the kids and teens. The only thing that has changed is the use of walker like devices to learn to skate. These walkers are wonderful and hilarious at the same time. 20 birthday kids 7 yrs and under, rolling around with walkers made the rink look more like a tiny retirement home convention than skating rink. Cole was a natural and took off on skates with almost 0 help. Case needed a little more coaching but finally figured out the technique by the end of the skate session. They skated so long and so hard Case's legs were sore the next day! Both boys are hooked and can't wait to go again.

The video is super cute but I can't get it to work right....Frustration. photo IMG_0809_zps9oyretwx.jpg
