Mid-Evil Good Time

Oh how I love the Renaissance festival! I never get tired of going, unless we have been there 6 hours and I have 2 cranky kids, but other than that, I never tire of it. This year we were able to go with B-pa during his visit. Cat show, acrobatic comedy show, fire breathers, Scottish music, Cole's first turkey leg, meeting the King and Queen, elephant ride, man powered ship, seeing a unicorn, sitting in a giant owls nest, stone statues that come to life with a quarter in her basket, petting zoo, man powered carousel, bell choir, people on stilts and the costumes! Wenches, pirates, noble people, ladies in waiting, fairies, elves, you name it, they are represented.

One day I would like to go through the 200+ stores, but alas, I have boys and they don't like to shop, so that is never on the days agenda. It's always fun to attend and as the boys get older we are able to attend more shows. Last year we watched 2. This year we watched 4! I always leave wishing I was wearing a corset! Maybe one year the boys will dress up with me to amp up the fun.

Can you believe after 8 hours gone, 6 hours at the festival, we still had the energy to stay up late and catch the 3rd of July fireworks show across the street at Meridian Ranch. We wore sunscreen, tank tops, flip flops and shorts during the day and jeans, jackets and blankets at night. Colorado home of cold evenings even in July! From am to pm we were busy, busy busy. I hope we showed B-pa a good time.
