Trunk or Treat 2013

Tonight was the test run for Halloween and we went trunk or treating at the church. We started off a little rocky after Cole decided to switch costumes at the last hour. Cole has wanted to be Lightening McQueen for the past month. Of course, the day before trick or treating he changed his mind and wanted to be a superhero.  I was prepared for a major tantrum scene. It took some convincing, but I finally managed to get Cole in his Lightening costume. Case wore a NASCAR Dale Earnheart Jr costume.  We had a sports car and a race car driver in the family.  I feel the need for speed!

Trunk or Treat at Woodmen Hills was perfect this year. We went car to car and trunk to trunk without jackets, blankets or freezing any extremity.  No one had a meltdown.  Everyone carried their own bucket.  No one started begging for candy until we were at the final cars.  Case and Cole said trick and treat loud and proud without prompting.  They even said thank you.  Cole caught on quick and really understood the concept of Halloween this year.  He figured out how to navigate in and out of the swarms of legs and weasel his way up close like a pro.  The kids played in the bounce houses and Cole enjoyed his first taste of cotton candy.  He loved it!  Plus we were able to share this fun with Cora and Emmie.  Halloween 2013 has been a success so far.
