Finally 5

The final birthday celebration was held this week when Cole officially turned 5 on Wednesday. He loved the special attention and totally milked his special day. His door was decorated while he slept and everyone got up early so we could go grab birthday donuts. Cole's class just happened to be hosting a parents pizza party on the day of his birthday so I rearranged my work schedule to share a pizza english muffin with my boy and pass out Bronco cupcakes for dessert (per Coles request). After school while we were playing zoo I asked Cole, 'do you want to play in my room or yours?' He said, 'since I'm the birthday boy I get to decide and I pick your room.' This wasn't the first or the last time he would play the birthday boy power card over the weekend. He knew he had birthday power and used it!  :)

Lele and Popie drove from Oklahoma to spend the weekend with Cole over his birthday. His special weekend was action packed. Friday Lele and Popie took Cole birthday present shopping and then had lunch with Case at school. Friday night we attended the Fall Festival at Banning Lewis Ranch, took a nighttime hay ride and played carnival games for stickers, pencils and halloween trinkets. Saturday we drove to Camp Alexander and attended Halloween Spooktacular with the boy scouts. We were there for hours and could have stayed longer. Canoeing, giant slides, indian dancing, lunch, shooting bb guns and bows and arrows. And after all that fun, we were hungry and went to our first ever Chinese buffet because Cole LOVES Chinese food. I really really didn't want to bake, but guess what? I ended up baking. Bronco cupcakes for school and a rainbow sprinkle cake to celebrate with the family. After dinner we were stuffed but still managed to squeeze in some rainbow sprinkle cake and presents: Paw patrol figures, baseball glove, spirograph and The Magic Tree House collection of books.

My perfect little boy turned 5 today. We had a wonderful day together and celebrated with lots of laughs and big fun. I love his creative, cuddly, independent, not afraid to stand up for others personality. He is an amazing creation for the world to enjoy. Happy Birthday Cole. I love you.
