Parenting Fail

So many parenting fail in such a short amount of time makes mama sigh.  SIGH!

1. Forgot Case's lunch = neighbor to the rescue.
2. Forgot to bring pizza sauce for English muffin pizza day at Cole's classroom =  random parent to the rescue.
3. Teacher asked how the class would be celebrating Cole's birthday. Mama had been so busy planning his birthday weekend with Lele and Popie she totally forgot about "celebrating in the classroom" = bronco cupcakes baked by mom in a rush the next day.
4. Mom had her days mixed up and thought the 14th was actually the 13th which meant she totally missed her sons birthday! Good thing he is too young to notice, celebration and activities went on as planned the day after.
5. Mom mistyped an electronic pledge for Case's fun run. $2 donation turned into $2 per lap x 35 laps = 70$ tab!  Plus our original $30 pledge. Grand total $100 for running 35 laps. I had to go to the school and take back my donation and explain the mistake.
6. Totally lost track of time and started an entire afternoon of sessions 15 minutes later than scheduled.  3:15 client, nope, started at 3:30. 4:15, started at 4:30. 5:15, started at 5:30. Didn't even realize the mistake until my 5:30 client said something about being late 30 minutes into session.
7. I bought a pork butt instead of a beef roast. Realized the mistake too late and cooked it like a roast, fingers crossed it would be okay. Well….. it tasted a little wanky and I couldn't blame anyone for wanting pretzels 1 hour later.
8. I was late to pick Case up for school for the first time this year resulting in no up front parking pick up space. I had to park in a neighborhood next to the elementary school and walk to the pick up space.  Oh did I mention that it was raining and the kids wait outside, grrrreat.

I am not perfect and God has chosen to highlight this fact in tremendous ways these past 2 weeks.

Oh, I also mixed up the times of Coles first T-ball practice and he missed his first game. Good times. Good times.

  1. Mistakes don't make us failures! You're doing your best, and your best is GREAT! I bet the boys have learned how to respond to mistakes by watching your reactions. Seeking help, going with it, and persevering are important lessons to learn!
