The beautiful weather has prompted outdoor adventuring. I love
Colorado more and more each year. Yes,
the winter can be cold, but the roads are always taken care of by the
state. The snow is beautiful every time
it falls. And 35 degrees isn’t really that
cold, a sweater and gloves is all you need to break the chill. So when the sun is shining and we hit upper
40’s and 50’s it’s time to break out the tee shirts. The boys have been enjoying the backyard
while the sun shines, chasing the puppies and jumping on the trampoline. One morning we went on a neighborhood hike
and walked to a nearby field, crossing over a wall of rocks and through a large
drainage ditch. I mean really, walking
through a drainage ditch, what an adventure!
Plus as we investigated the field, Case came upon a fuzzy black
caterpillar. Then he found another. And another.
And another. 2 hours later we had
found a million fuzzy black caterpillars.
We were watching our every step, because they were everywhere we
walked! For a bunch of nature loving
boys, it really was an exciting sight to be seen. Spring is still 3 months away for Colorado,
but our family has enjoyed the beautiful break from winter.
