Easter is a long day and lot of work folks! Here is what Easter looked like in the Gray house 2014. The Easter bunny came late at night while the boys slept. Both of the boys were up before 6:30. They dug through their Easter baskets, ate a
pound of candy and found all the hidden eggs by 6:45. The rest of the morning was spent playing in
the backyard (fun) and crying (not fun).
Winey voices and demands were at a high in the house. A combination of: sleep deprivation, Easter
excitement, too much candy and 'I don’t want to wear Easter clothes' attitude
resulted in multiple tears and one time out all before we left for church at
10:30.
After church Popie and the boys enjoyed the beautiful
weather and attempted to fly a kite. Our
majestic bird took flight once for an extended period of time. After that, the wind wouldn’t cooperate and in
order to get the kite up in the sky someone had to take off running. Case took on the task and was successful for a few brief shining moments. Later we had friends over to join us for a
delicious ham dinner and the boys played in the yard until dark. After one last egg hunt at dusk everyone came inside. Everyone was dirty, full of candy and carrot cake and we collapsed from exhaustion. Whew! What a busy day. I need at least 1 year to rest before I am ready to tackle Easter again.
