Messing with Tradition

We had special guests for Easter 2014.  Lele and Popie!  They arrived Easter eve just in time to decorating Easter eggs.  Apparently after dying eggs for 35+ years I am searching for something with a little more pizazz than the traditional cup, tablet and vinegar routine.  This year we tried out an idea from Pinterest by rolling plain eggs in shaving cream and food coloring, let the eggs sit for about 10 minutes and then wipe the excess off with a paper towel.  Some of the more traditional adults started off grumbling about “messing with tradition” and “if it ain’t broke, why change it.”  However once we were up to our elbows in shaving cream the tune changed to “this is the best way to dye eggs ever.”  We ended up with some messy hands, a evening of fun and cool looking tie dye eggs.
