Never Be Late
My mother told me once, "Never be late to an Easter egg hunt." Her words are very wise. The Easter weather in Colorado was beautiful this year and we were able to attend the neighborhood hunt across the street. The Easter bunny greeted everyone at the entrance. Case asked, "Is that the real Easter bunny or just a guy dressed up like a rabbit?" Upon getting a little closer he said, "Just a guy." Cole continued his trend of keeping a cautious distance between himself and the big bunny and wouldn't get close enough for a picture. Closest shot I could get was Cole standing with the bunny in the background. At least he didn't cry when we tried to give him an egg (flashback to his second Easter). The event ad boasted 5,000 eggs, but I doubt it. Both boys worked out a hunting strategy with dad prior to the hunt starting and neither one of the boys ended up with very many eggs. Despite the puny booty, the thrill of the hunt was the most exciting part. The announcer started the hunt at 10:00 am exactly. Children were flying everywhere, running into each other and scavenging the ground like experts. The hunt was over in a flash and we were back at the car buckled inside by 10:07! Never be late to an Easter egg hunt.
