Big Boy Update

Cole has done well adjusting to his new big boy bed.  Cole has always been one to stay up past bedtime playing for 30-45 minutes before drifting off.  The addition of his new bed has not changed his evening schedule, except he now has the freedom to do whatever he wants.  Cole's first night was quite comical.  Cole snuck in and out of his room, little feet running back and forth, multiple times before I went upstairs.  Here's the scene I found.  All the lights were on.  Cole had gone in my room and both bathrooms and pulled out toys.  He opened up all of his dresser drawers and pulled out clothes, blankets and multiple toys.  Cole had even snuck into Cases room and stolen several coveted toys for his room.  In fact, I found him red handed attempting to abduct a stuffed animal from Case's room.  Cole had turned on the lights and was standing on Case's bed.  Case was passed out asleep while Cole stood next to his head.  Cole's arm was outstretched and reaching for a toy on Case's bookshelf.  I said, ‘Cole!’ in a stern whisper.  Cole stopped in his tracks and his whole body did some kind of little shake like he knew he had been busted.  Then this ornery little child said to me, ‘shhhh, you’ll wake up Case.’  Little stinker!

It’s been over a week and Cole will still try to sneak out of his room and steal toys from Case's room while he sleeps.  Or Cole will try to coerce the cat to come into his room instead of sleeping on Case’s bed.  He still makes a mess of his toys while unsupervised before falling asleep. He has fallen out of his bed once and fallen asleep on the floor another time, but he is doing better with his freedom.  My big boy is doing well.
